Frequently asked questions
How long will this procedure take?
After your consultation is completed with each office, there will be one or two appointments needed to obtain initial records. In most cases, there will be only one day of surgery where the failing teeth will be removed, dental implants inserted, and a new set of beautiful fixed teeth will be placed. Healing will take a few months. Once the healing process is complete, the final prosthesis will take several months in order to ensure the best esthetic outcome and fit.
Will it hurt?
On the day of your dental implant surgery, you with be anesthetized in order to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. After surgery everyone’s pain threshold is different. Generally, over-the-counter pain relievers are all that is needed, but you will be given the proper post-op instructions and medications needed.
Can I eat after the treatment?
You will be limited to a soft food diet for a few months. If you can cut it with a fork, then you can eat it. Do not eat anything that crunches.
Do I need to brush my teeth and get my teeth cleaned?
Caring for your new Hybrid Dentures is very important. Routine home care habits like brushing and using a Waterpik will be recommended. Also, routine dental hygiene visits are necessary. Dr. Buss and her hygienists will work with you to keep your new smile healthy and to prevent bone loss and periodontal disease.
